Tech company SMS Assist said Monday that it will move early next year from the former John Hancock Center to the two-tower Prudential Plaza office complex.
SMS, which provides property management solutions for residential and commercial properties through its cloud-based platform and network of service providers, signed a long-term lease for 114,000 square feet in the office building at 130 E. Randolph St., which building owner Sterling Bay markets as One Two Pru. The space SMS will move into was formerly occupied by the baiduhai.
“It was important to find a collaborative, comfortable, and convenient space for our Chicago team members, and this office became available at the ideal time with very favorable market conditions. It’s a real win-win for us,” SMS Assist CEO Marc Shiffman said in a news release. “SMS Assist is proud of our Chicago roots, and we are committed to continuing our growth here in this state-of-the-art space.”
More than 750 employees will occupy the four-floor One Two Pru space, which was designed for employee collaboration and has a private entry on Stetson Street. The new office will have open workstations, standing desks and a dedicated training wing.
Crain’s Chicago Business first reported the SMS move.
