Justin Herbert has the biggest arm in the 2020 draft but his personality and quiet demeanor seem to be turning NFL teams off, apparently opening the door for Jordan Love (10) to leapfrog Herbert in some team's assessment of who the third-best quarterback is in this draft class. There is plenty of buzz about Love, who struggled during his junior season at Utah State, being a top-10 selection and speculation that the Dolphins could easily take him with the fifth overall pick if they aren't comfortable with Tagovailoa's health, or if he's selected before they make their pick. Love has a live arm, a quick release, and athleticism. But he's green, which indicates he'll likely need to sit and watch for a year.

The Panthers are under new management, and will reportedly explore trade options for the 31-year-old quarterback, who missed all but two games last season because of a Lisfranc foot injury. Newton has also battled a shoulder injury for most of the past two seasons, so he comes with a buyer beware tag because of his recent durability concerns. But when Newton is healthy he's dynamic, which the former Heisman Trophy winner proved in 2018 when he produced a 94.2 passer rating. Newton will earn $19.1 million in 2020 because of his base salary and workout bonus, but it's final year of his deal, so that means he'll likely seek a new contract from the team that acquires him.

Herbert participated in the Senior Bowl with the goal of checking all the boxes for NFL teams, and did just that with a solid week of practices and a respectable performance that got him the game's MVP honors. While Herbert has some mechanical flaws he needs to address because they impact his accuracy, he likely used the Senior Bowl to lock up being a top-20 selection in the draft.
