John May OBITUARY

John May, the second of eight boys born to Louise Williamson May and Louis May, Sr. on September 13, 1931, made his transition on September 22, 2018. He is a 1951 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School, Gary, Indiana. In 1953, John was drafted into the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge from the Artillery and Guided Missile Center in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He worked at United States Steel, Gary Works for more than 40 years. John leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ellastine Covington May, three daughters, R.Terese and Johnella, (California) and LaDona (Scott) Butler, along with a son he chose, LB Brown, both of Gary. His brothers, Joseph May of Mesa, AZ, Lonnell (Alicia) May of Mishawaka, IN, Curtis (Bianca) May of Vandalia, MI and Floyd (Ernestine) May of Atlanta, GA will miss him. All Services Wednesday October 3, 2018 Wake 9:00a.m. Funeral 11:00a.m. at Van Buren Baptist Church 2585 Van Buren St. Gary, In.
