The Chicago Police Department’s 3rd District, in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, hosted a dedication and renaming ceremony in honor of fallen Officer Dorelle C. Brandon, on Sept. 12, 2026. Brandon was the first female Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty. Her end of watch was January 25, 1984.
