BURGLARY ATTEMPT: A vehicle matching the description of a vehicle used minutes earlier to break into an Oak Lawn bar and grill in the 4000 block of 111th Street early Aug. 28, pulled into the parking lot at Dotty’s Deli, 12262 Pulaski Road, but fled when an officer monitoring the business turned on squad emergency lighting, police said. The officer followed until pursuit was unsafe, returned to the business and determined no one had broken in, police said.

PUBLIC INDECENCY: Kaden M. Corprew, 18, Gladys, Virginia, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview Aug. 27, charged with public indecency stemming from exposing himself Aug. 7 to an employee at a motel in the 8200 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.
DUI WEAPON: Luis F. Mendoza, 49, 5200 block of James Lane, Crestwood, was arrested Aug. 8 and charged with drunken driving and unlawful possession of a weapon after an officer determined he was intoxicated and recovered a collapsible baton during a stop at Lincoln Highway and Williams Street, police said.

DUI CRASH: Shauntrelle J. Lockhart, 29, Blue Island, is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview Sept. 9, charged with drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision, improper lane use, driving without lights when required, illegally transporting alcohol, failing to provide proof of insurance and failing to carry a driver’s license Aug. 22 during a stop at 111th Street and Ridgeland Avenue, police said.

IDENTITY THEFT: A Nassau County, New York, woman accused of attempting to defraud a 76-year-old customer at a bank branch was indicted Aug. 13 on charges of aggravated identity theft, forgery and possession of fraudulent identification, according to Will County court information online. Jamie Ann Steakin, 48, was arrested July 3 while trying to withdraw $8,000 from the victim’s account, police said.

GUNS, DRUGS: Julio Galvan, 34, the 14500 block of Martin Luther King Drive, was arrested Aug. 5 in that block and subsequently charged with armed violence, possession of more than 100 grams of cocaine and manufacture/delivery of cocaine after Cook County sheriff’s police recovered three guns and more than 100 grams of suspected cocaine, sheriff’s police said.
Evergreen Park
SEX OFFENDER: Cook County sheriff’s police assisted the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast violent offenders fugitive task force in the Aug. 25 arrest of Jason M. Osborne, 44, 3800 block of West 95th Street, on a 2019 warrant charging him with sexual assault of a child in Harris County, Texas, sheriff’s police said. Osborne was linked to the Texas case by a DNA sample he submitted in 2025 following a conviction in Cook County on charges of possessing a depiction of child sexual abuse, sheriff’s police said.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Terrence l. Reddit, 45, 2200 block of Bernice Road, Lansing, was arrested June 16 and accused of aggravated assault after threatening another tenant with brass knuckles and a small knife over a parking space at an extended stay motel, police said.
Lockport
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Dalizy Serpa-Beltran, 49, 16700 block of West Merc Lane, Lockport, is scheduled to return to court Sept. 29, charged with two counts of aggravated assault/deadly weapon, according to court information online. Serpa-Beltran was arrested Aug. 23 in that block after brandishing two large kitchen knives during an argument, police said.
Monee
SLOTS BURGLARY: Three masked and gloved males entered the Thornton’s gas station, 25461 S. Ridgeland Ave., shortly before 3 a.m. Aug. 29, disregarded employees and customers and used sledge hammers and pry tools to break into video slot machines, police said.
New Lenox
SLOTS BURGLARY: Three males smashed the glass front door of Vino, 647 E. Lincoln Highway, and pried the cash boxes from three video slot machines early Aug. 28, police said. The trio is suspected of burglaries in Mokena and Palos Hills, police said.
SLOTS BURGLARY: Five masked males who smashed through the glass front door at White Horse Inn, 348 W. Maple St., early Aug. 31 with a sledge hammer destroyed several video slot machines and removed the cash boxes, police said. Minutes later the crew entered the Gas N’ Wash, 3000 Maple Road, and destroyed several machines, police said.

SLOTS BURGLARY: Four masked and hooded people used sledge hammers to smash the front glass door at Stella’s Place, 8759 Ridgeland Ave., early May 6, and damage three video slot machines before exiting with two cash boxes, according to a police report released Aug. 31 after Freedom Of Information Act requests.
SLOTS BURGLARY: Three masked and gloved people used a sledge hammer to smash the glass front door at Wing Snob, 6762 95th St., early June 25, smashed four video slot machines and left with a cash box and two cash registers, police said.
Orland Park
RETAIL THEFT: Lenn W. Somerville, 54, Chicago, appeared in Cook County court at Bridgeview July 21, charged with felony retail theft and trespassing in connection with the removal of alcohol valued at $554 July 20 from Jewel-Osco, 9350 159th St., police said. Somerville, also charged with resisting arrest and obstruction, was arrested in the 9300 block of 159th Street, police said.
AGGRAVATED DUI: Nicolas Morales, 47, Cicero, was arrested July 24 and charged with aggravated drunken driving and felony driving while license revoked following a stop at 151st Street and Wolf Road, police said.
Palos Heights
DUI CRASH: Anna E. Ahmetovic, 40, Chicago, was arrested Aug. 19 and subsequently charged with drunken driving, driving the wrong way, driving without headlights when required, illegal transportation of alcohol and failing to provide proof of insurance during a stop in the 12200 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.
Palos Hills
GAMBLING BURGLARY: Four masked and hooded persons shattered the glass front door at Stella’s Place, 7634 W. 111th St., early Aug. 24 and removed two cash boxes from six damaged slot machines, police said.

AGGRAVATED DUI: Lawanda L. Maddox, 46, 1100 block of Abbott Lane, University Park, was arrested Aug. 11 and accused of aggravated drunken driving, aggravated driving while license revoked, speeding, illegally transporting alcohol and failing to provide proof of insurance during a stop near Western Avenue and Sauk Trail, police said.
GUN POSSESSION: Mercedes W. Bullard, 29, Chicago, was arrested Aug. 12 and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm after an officer recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol during a stop near 26th and Ash streets and determined she lacked a concealed carry license, police said.
BURGLARY: Joseph S. Starcevich, 30, Dyer, Indiana, was arraigned in Will County court Aug. 18, charged with burglary and criminal damage to property, according to court records online. The charge stems from a July 5 break-in at a self-storage facility in the 23000 block of Western Avenue in unincorporated Will County near Park Forest, sheriff’s police said.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Jon B. Anderson, 59, Chicago, was indicted Aug. 20 on two counts of aggravated battery/public place, according to Will County court records online. Anderson hit an employee and hit and choked another customer July 21 at a liquor store at Steger and Chicago roads, police said.
THEFT: A commercial delivery driver took a Daschund puppy valued at $1,500 Aug. 20 from a residence in the 23000 block of Shagbark Lane, police said.
Tinley Park
PUBLIC INDECENCY: Jefferey A. Taylor, 29, 7700 block of Northfield Lane, Tinley Park, is scheduled to return to Will County court Sept. 15, charged with public indecency and disorderly conduct, according to court records on line. Taylor exposed himself to a townhouse resident June 5 in the Brookside Glen subdivision, police said.
