ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Chicago White Sox will have another option in the outfield after acquiring Brenton Doyle from the Colorado Rockies for minor-league pitcher Mason Adams and shortstop Carlos Vielma.
To make room for Doyle on the 40-man roster, the Sox designated pitcher Duncan Davitt for assignment.
Doyle, 28, is slashing .214/.287/.282 with one home run and five RBIs in 45 games this season. He was on the injured list from May 20-July 31, reportedly being slowed first by a left oblique contusion and then a left groin strain.
