The media reported that the turnout was about normal for the primary election that took place on Tuesday, March 17.
Normal means that about 80% of those people who were eligible to
vote did not. This allows the establishment politicians to secure their plush seats of power and maintain their influence on the partisan positions whether they are good or not.
Some are outright corrupt. We take for granted that the machine politicians will win these local elections and there is nothing we can do about it. That is correct if the participation of our right to vote is abdicated.
Our republic will surely be lost if the apathetic public keeps its normal habits.
